NxtQuantum OS promises zero-trust security with all data staying in India - at a starting price of 4,499 rupees on Flipkart.

The launch event in New Delhi saw Google Cloud India's MD and Flipkart's VP-Mobiles share the stage, signalling serious ecosystem backing for the venture. The pitch is unapologetically sovereignty-first: NxtQuantum OS is described as India's first 'sovereign mobile operating system' with a zero-trust security architecture, and the company says all personal data and backups remain within MeitY-empanelled Google Cloud regions in India.

At a starting price of 4,499 rupees, the lineup undercuts almost everything in the entry segment while promising a bloatware-free, privacy-first experience for India's 800 million smartphone users.

The real test, analysts say, will be software-update discipline and after-sales support - the two areas where challenger brands most often stumble. If NxtQuantum delivers on updates, the Ai+ could become the template for a genuinely Indian smartphone stack.
