Anil Kapoor wins Best Actor for Subedaar at Asian Academy Creative Awards

Anil Kapoor has won the National Winner — Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Asian Academy Creative Awards 2026 for Subedaar, and will represent India at the Grand Gala Final in Singapore on Dec 3.

Kapoor plays retired soldier Arjun Maurya, struggling to adjust to civilian life while taking on local corruption to protect his family — a performance the awards body called remarkable.

Director Suresh Triveni also won Best Direction for a Feature Film, and Subedaar took Best Feature Film for India, making it a triple national honour for the Prime Video action-drama.

The winners advance to the Dec 3 Grand Awards Gala in Singapore, where an international jury picks the overall Asian winners; Jackie Chan represents China with The Shadow's Edge.
