Banks to stay open on Sunday, Sept 27, ahead of 3-day nationwide bank strike

Public sector banks and regional rural banks will function normally on Sunday, September 27, under a special arrangement approved by the finance ministry and the RBI, ahead of the United Forum of Bank Unions' strike call for September 28–30.

Branches, administrative offices and currency chests will stay open to clear the backlog before the three-day strike begins.

The Saturday closure on September 26 was the regular fourth-Saturday holiday; bank customers have been advised to finish branch visits on Sunday.
