TG Genco suspended the Yadadri Stage-I chief engineer for gross negligence, hours after the CM warned even top officials.

The Telangana government has suspended B. Suresh, chief engineer of Yadadri Thermal Power Station Stage-I, for alleged gross negligence in power generation. TG Genco chairman and managing director S. Harish issued the suspension orders, placing the officer under suspension pending a departmental enquiry.

The action came hours after Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, at a review meeting on Wednesday evening, took serious note of power outages across the state. He questioned why Yadadri was not generating at full capacity despite coal linkage from the Naini and Mahanadi blocks, and warned he would suspend even the Energy Department's special chief secretary and the TG Genco CMD if negligence was found.

The CM ordered officials to ensure uninterrupted round-the-clock power supply until the harvest is complete, so standing crops do not wither amid the state's rain-deficit conditions. He also directed that the reasons for every power cut be reported to him directly.
