HCLTech reported a 21.2% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to ₹5,132 crore for the September quarter, with revenue up 11%, beating Street expectations.

Improved operating profitability and steady deal wins drove the beat, with the company's advanced AI business reporting encouraging growth — annualised AI revenue climbed to $219 million from $171 million in the previous quarter.

The result powered a sector-wide rally: IT counters led Tuesday's market recovery as investors priced in stronger enterprise demand for digital and AI services.

The numbers set a confident tone for the rest of the earnings season, with investors now watching Infosys and Wipro for confirmation that the IT upcycle is broadening.
