India and Switzerland have identified new opportunities for cooperation in defence production and nuclear energy, extending the momentum from this week's Migration & Mobility Partnership signed during President Parmelin's visit.

The new areas of cooperation build on talks between PM Modi and Swiss President Guy Parmelin that had already covered trade, technology and AI — defence production and nuclear energy now join the list.

For India, the Swiss track adds another European partner to its push for co-production and technology transfer in advanced manufacturing.

The migration pact signed alongside remains the headline win for Indian students and professionals seeking structured pathways into Switzerland.
