The first Rajinikanth film to cross ₹200 crore in Tamil Nadu is now chasing the unthinkable — a ₹1,000 crore worldwide finish.

The numbers are unprecedented for a Rajinikanth starrer: over ₹200 crore from Tamil Nadu alone — a first for the superstar — and ₹75 crore-plus grosses in all four South Indian markets, a record that had eluded even the biggest Indian blockbusters before this.

Twelve days to ₹735 crore puts the film on a trajectory that trade analysts describe as historic for Tamil cinema, with 2026 already shaping up as the industry's biggest year.

The chatter in trade circles has now moved to the once-unthinkable: a ₹1,000 crore worldwide finish. Whether the film's legs can carry it there will depend on how it holds against the Ramayana juggernaut in the coming weeks.
