Robotics, AI to drive next phase of precision healthcare: Jitendra Singh

Union science minister Jitendra Singh said robotics, AI and nanoscience will form an integrated ecosystem for precision, personalised healthcare, speaking at the SRS India 2026 robotic surgery conference in New Delhi.
The minister, himself a physician and diabetologist, said robotics must not be seen as only surgical technology — future branches could include robotic medicine, robotic endocrinology and robotic cardiology.
He argued the next phase of healthcare will rest on genetically driven diagnostics and treatment tailored to a patient's biological and environmental profile, rather than one-size-fits-all medicine.
The remarks come as India pushes frontier technologies — AI, biotechnology, nuclear medicine, nanotechnology and robotics — into mainstream healthcare delivery.
