KBR Park traffic plan: 7 flyovers scrapped for one ₹1,090-crore steel corridor

The GHMC Standing Committee has approved a revised ₹1,090-crore six-lane steel flyover corridor around KBR Park, replacing the earlier plan of seven separate flyovers — a move that has drawn sharp political criticism from KTR.

The bidirectional corridor aims at signal-free movement across five major junctions, split into two packages: Jubilee Hills Check Post to Mugdha Junction (₹580 crore), and Mugdha Junction to Muffakham Jah College with a Banjara Hills ramp (₹510 crore).

BRS working president KTR slammed the revision, noting significant road works and tree-felling had already happened under the old plan — 'Welcome to the new Tuglak era,' he posted.

For commuters, the question is simpler: will a single elevated corridor deliver the promised congestion-free ride around one of Hyderabad's busiest stretches?
