Amit Shah flags off India's first LNG-powered train in Ahmedabad

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on September 28 inaugurated railway projects worth over Rs 1,542 crore in Gujarat, including flagging off the country's first LNG-powered train from Sabarmati station in Ahmedabad.

The package also covers a WAG-12 locomotive maintenance shed, the Kavach safety system, automatic signalling and doubling of the Sabarmati–Sarkhej line.

Separately, foundation stones were laid at Kandla for India's first port-based e-methanol plant.
