Nvidia in talks to acquire or deepen stake in open-model startup Reflection AI
The Financial Times reports that Nvidia is discussing a full acquisition of, or deeper investment in, Reflection AI — the open-model startup it recently backed.
The deal could take an acquihire-style shape: bringing Reflection's researchers in-house and licensing the technology without an outright buyout. No agreement has been reached, and talks could still fall apart.
The move signals that the chip giant — whose hardware powers most of the world's frontier AI training — now wants a direct seat at the table in frontier model development itself.
