Osmania doctors' stir enters third day; juniors demand written assurance, not verbal promises

More than 500 junior doctors, interns and residents at Osmania General Hospital are pressing for a formal MoU with deadlines, rejecting verbal assurances from the Health Minister's team.
The Telangana Junior Doctors Association said verbal assurances were insufficient and sought a memorandum of understanding specifying deadlines for fixes.
The doctors flagged shortages of essential medicines, equipment and consumables — including stents, catheters and x-ray supplies — saying the gaps affect hospitals across Telangana, not just Osmania.
Health officials had promised fixes within ten days after Tuesday's talks, but sections of the medical fraternity question how problems pending for months can be solved in ten days.
