Gurkirat Singh's 90th-minute header earned Punjab FC a 1-1 draw with Mumbai City, keeping the Shers unbeaten in the ISL.

Substitute Gurkirat Singh headed home a dramatic 90th-minute equaliser as Punjab FC fought back to draw 1-1 with Mumbai City FC in the ISL at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Monday. The result preserved the Shers' unbeaten start to the season and lifted them to third place with four points from two matches.

Mumbai City had taken the lead in the 65th minute when Leandro Otormin calmly converted a penalty after Bijoy Varghese slipped while challenging Noufal. Punjab, who had struck the crossbar late in the first half through Khaiminthang Lhungdim, kept pushing in the closing stages. The breakthrough came when fellow substitute Sanathoi Meetei floated a precise cross from the left and Gurkirat rose to power the header home.

Mumbai City will rue their inability to hold on, especially after Raphael Messi Bouli nearly won it for Punjab in the 92nd minute, only to be denied by goalkeeper Rehenesh. The Islanders, who lost their opener to Churchill Brothers, are still searching for their first win of the campaign.
