Ravindra Jadeja scored his 16th first-class century for Saurashtra on the third day of the Ranji Trophy, headline act of a day that also saw Karan put Rajasthan in control against Tamil Nadu.

Jadeja's hundred underlined his all-round value at the start of the domestic season, even as he remains central to India's Test plans.

Elsewhere, Yashasvi Jaiswal turned heads for practising wicketkeeping during Mumbai's Ranji match, and Rajasthan pressed home their advantage over Tamil Nadu.

Rain also made its presence felt, with ground staff in Srinagar racing to cover the pitch during the Jammu & Kashmir–Madhya Pradesh game.
