Skyroot Aerospace will fly two dedicated Vikram-1 missions for US firm Reflect Orbital, announced October 14.

Hyderabad-based Skyroot Aerospace has secured a multi-launch agreement with US satellite developer Reflect Orbital, announced on October 14. The deal covers two dedicated orbital missions on Skyroot's Vikram-1 rocket series.

The California company selected the private Indian launch provider to deploy its specialised sunlight-redirection satellite constellation into low-Earth orbit. The first mission will use the standard Vikram-1, with a follow-up on an upgraded variant.

The contract is a landmark for India's commercial space sector, signalling that Indian private launch vehicles are winning international customers. It follows the successful orbital qualification flights of Skyroot's Vikram series and strengthens India's growing share of the global commercial launch market.
