Ayushmann's Udta Teer clears CBFC with U/A 13+, one cut; releases October 23

The spy comedy Udta Teer, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, has been passed by the CBFC with a U/A 13+ certificate ahead of its October 23 release. The censors asked for just one major cut -- a shot showing blood on the Indian map.
Udta Teer, the Ayushmann Khurrana-Sara Ali Khan spy comedy releasing on October 23, has completed its censor process with a U/A 13+ certificate. The Central Board of Film Certification asked the makers to remove just one major shot -- one showing blood on the Indian map -- and to extend the preceding shot to cover the cut.
The board also asked for the anti-smoking disclaimer 'Smoking Kills' in five scenes and an anti-liquor disclaimer in a scene of alcohol consumption. No changes were demanded in the dialogues or action scenes, and the certified runtime is 2 hours, 17 minutes and 41 seconds.
Written and directed by Akash A Kaushik, the film is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla and Apoorva Mehta's Dharma Productions with Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain's Sikhya Entertainment. It tells the story of a Pakistani spy who infiltrates India, loses his memory and starts believing he is a hardcore Indian patriot -- a comedy of errors that subverts the hyper-macho spy genre.
