Zelensky says Russia kept hitting energy sites hours after Trump's ‘ceasefire’

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday that Russia immediately defied US President Donald Trump's declared “energy ceasefire,” striking Ukraine's gas infrastructure and a power plant in Kharkiv within hours of the announcement. Trump had posted on Truth Social on Sunday that an “ENERGY CEASEFIRE” was effective immediately.
Zelensky, speaking on Fox News, admitted the announcement was “news for me” but said Ukraine supports the truce and is awaiting details from the American side. The Kharkiv strike on Sunday night killed three people and wounded nine, including children.
Trump is also pushing a deal for the United States to buy diesel from Russia even as American diesel prices hover around $6.28 a gallon. Whether the ceasefire holds — and what enforcement, if any, backs it — remains unclear.
