FBI blames North Korea for record $6.3B Binance heist; withdrawals resume

The FBI on Saturday attributed Thursday's record $6.3 billion theft from Binance to the North Korean state-sponsored unit TraderTraitor, which it says is converting the stolen assets mainly into Ethereum.
Binance resumed withdrawals on Sunday, saying it had covered about 95% of the loss through its emergency SAFU reserve, corporate treasury and futures insurance fund, and that users would bear none of the cost.
The heist is the largest crypto theft on record and has renewed calls for tougher controls on exchanges' hot wallets.
