French supercomputer maker Bull doubles output to boost Europe's AI ambitions

State-owned Bull reopened an expanded factory in Angers on Thursday that doubles capacity from 6 to 12 server racks a month at a cost of €80 million; output could reach 24 racks a month in 2027. The move supports the EU's €7 billion EuroHPC programme to close the AI compute gap with the US and China.
Bull, the state-owned French maker of Europe's fastest supercomputers, reopened an expanded factory in Angers on Thursday, doubling capacity from 6 to 12 server racks a month at a cost of €80 million.
Output could climb to 24 racks a month in 2027 as Europe pushes to close the AI compute gap with the US and China.
The expansion supports the EU's €7 billion EuroHPC programme, and comes as Bull has won 15 of 18 EuroHPC tenders this year.
