Court orders Dipke's release as Delhi braces for second day of protests

A Delhi court on Sunday ordered the release of Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke and two senior leaders who were detained on Saturday as police thwarted the planned protest at Jantar Mantar, on condition that they cause no breach of peace for one year. Dhruv Rathee was also released.
Metro stations that were shut on Saturday reopened and mobile internet was restored on Sunday, though thousands of police and paramilitary personnel remained deployed across the capital as the city braced for a second day of demonstrations.
Separately, India's foreign ministry called the UN human rights office's criticism of the detentions “selective” and “unwarranted interference in the internal affairs of India.”
