‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’ opens with a record ₹62 crore, biggest October 2 start ever

Ajay Devgn's ‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’ stormed theatres on Oct 2 — the very date woven into the franchise's famous alibi — collecting ₹62.03 crore on day one in India, the highest October 2 opening of all time and the biggest opening of Devgn's career.
The finale rewrote the October 2 box-office chart, moving past ‘War’ (₹53.35 crore), ‘MS Dhoni – The Untold Story’ (₹24.10 crore) and ‘Bang Bang’ (₹24.08 crore). Occupancy climbed from about 41% at noon to 52% by evening across roughly 8,500 shows.
Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the final chapter brings back Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar alongside Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta and Jaideep Ahlawat as a new SP Crime Branch officer. The franchise began in 2015 and continued with ‘Drishyam 2’ in 2022.
Trade watchers report the film earned roughly ₹95 crore worldwide on opening day and is now chasing the first film's lifetime global total of about ₹110 crore. Advance bookings before release were worth nearly ₹80 crore including blocked seats.
