India beat Pakistan by 19 runs to defend Asian Games cricket gold

India retained the men's cricket gold at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Oct 3, beating Pakistan by 19 runs in a high-scoring final at Korogi Sports Park — the first men's cricket meeting between the two nations at the Games.
Batting first, India posted 211 for 6 — their highest T20I total against Pakistan — powered by half-centuries from Abhishek Sharma (61) and Tilak Varma (51 not out). The bowlers then held their nerve to restrict Pakistan to 192 for 6.
Pakistan's chase centred on a blazing 96 off 50 balls from Hasan Nawaz, who struck seven sixes to keep the contest alive deep into the final over. Axar Patel was India's best bowler with 2 for 29, and Washington Sundar struck at a key moment.
The win gave India back-to-back Asian Games men's cricket titles, with the women's team having already defended its crown earlier in the Games. The final also marked Jasprit Bumrah's 100th T20I appearance for India.
