Drishyam The Conclusion opens to midnight-show frenzy

The Ajay Devgn-led franchise finale hit theatres on October 2 to extraordinary demand, with cinemas adding post-midnight shows even before release day. One Mumbai multiplex ran near round-the-clock screenings, and trade watchers tracked an opening day of about ₹65 crore — the biggest of Devgn's career.
Unlike Drishyam 2, where late shows were added mid-day, exhibitors opened post-midnight bookings from October 1 itself on the strength of advance sales. Maxus Bhayander went furthest, scheduling shows at 12:35 am, 1:05 am, 2:05 am, 3:05 am and 5:05 am, turning the release into a genuine event.
Exhibitors were also told to price tickets at the premium event-film levels set this year by Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Dhurandhar The Revenge — a notable vote of confidence in a suspense thriller rather than a VFX spectacle. Strong bookings despite the pricing suggest audiences are racing to beat spoilers.
The wave already has casualties: Ayushmann Khurrana's Udta Teer, scheduled for October 9, has been pushed to October 23 to avoid clashing with the Drishyam juggernaut. JioHotstar's Alok Jain called the franchise an enduring IP audiences have made their own.
