The Israel Defense Forces said on Oct 3 it killed two Palestinian Islamic Jihad operatives in separate strikes in Gaza City — a rocket-array commander and an anti-tank missile cell head — accusing them of rebuilding capabilities in violation of the ceasefire.

The two men were Ahmed Mahmoud Harb Ramlawi, a commander in the rocket array of the Shejaiya Battalion, and Munir Ibrahim Masr, head of an anti-tank missile cell in Islamic Jihad's “military” wing. Both were targeted in Gaza City.

The IDF said the pair had been involved in restoring the group's capabilities “in systematic violation of the ceasefire agreement”, and that forces “will continue to act to eliminate any immediate threat.”

On Thursday night, the Israeli Air Force and Shin Bet also killed a Hamas sniper in the Khan Yunis area of southern Gaza, identified as Tamer Hamaida, who they said had advanced plans for attacks against Israeli troops and civilians.
