The actor, who holds US citizenship and an OCI card, will contest the 'leave India' notice issued after his participation in the Mumbai anti-CEC protest.

Bollywood actor Imran Khan is set to approach the Bombay High Court to challenge the Foreigners Regional Registration Office's notice directing him to leave India by October 28. He has engaged MZM Legal LLP as his counsel and is considering a writ petition against the order.

The FRRO notice followed Khan's participation in the October 10 protest at Mumbai's August Kranti Maidan demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The agency's position is that, as a US citizen holding an OCI card, he violated immigration provisions by taking part in a political agitation.

The case began with a complaint by BJP leader Kirit Somaiya, who questioned whether a foreign national should participate in Indian political protests. Khan, the nephew of Aamir Khan, was detained during the October 10 demonstration along with hundreds of others and later released.
