Israel and other nations mark three years since the October 7 attacks

Israel and countries around the world held solemn memorials on Wednesday on the third anniversary of Hamas's October 7 terror attacks, with flags at half-staff, a 6:29 a.m. moment of silence, and vigils at Kibbutz Kfar Aza and the Nova festival site.
A woman embraced a memorial sign at the Nova music festival site near Reim; at Kfar Aza — where hundreds were murdered and kidnapped — a resident read a roll call of the dead. Anti-government protesters briefly blocked the Ayalon Highway for the 6:29 a.m. silence, the hour the invasion began.
Netanyahu laid a wreath at Mount Herzl and said Israel had killed '4,000 out of 6,000' militants who infiltrated that day, foreshadowing more war ahead despite the stalled US-brokered ceasefire. More than 74,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, per the Palestinian health ministry.
Wednesday evening's national memorial in Tel Aviv, organised by the 'Kumu' movement of survivors and families and hosted by former hostage Eli Sharabi, drew tens of thousands.
