Captain Shreyas Iyer struck his maiden T20I century — an unbeaten 102 off 43 balls with 10 fours and six sixes — as India chased down West Indies’ 171 with 32 balls to spare in Lucknow on Tuesday to go 1-0 up in the five-match series.

Iyer’s blistering knock headlined a dominant Indian batting display that made light of the target, before Friday’s record chase turned the series on its head in Ranchi.

The series now stands level at 1-1, with the third T20I in Indore on Sunday set to be decisive for momentum.

India will rue letting a 249-run total slip in Ranchi, but Iyer’s form with the bat remains a major positive.
