Jailer 2 nears Rs 800 crore worldwide, becomes top Tamil film ever

Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 posted a 70% third-Saturday jump, earning Rs 9.35 crore net on day 17 to take its worldwide gross to Rs 790.85 crore — just Rs 9.15 crore short of Rs 800 crore, a first for Tamil cinema (trade estimates).

Its India net stands at Rs 444.75 crore, and it has overtaken Rajinikanth's own 2.0 as the highest-grossing Tamil film ever; in Tamil Nadu it is his first Rs 200 crore grosser.
