The one-way traffic system around KBR Park continued this week as the Transport Minister inspected foundation excavation and junction works for the proposed elevated corridor on October 9. The corridor is aimed at easing congestion on one of the city's busiest stretches.

Meanwhile, the city's new common mobility pass has drawn public criticism over its pricing and limited scope, with commuters saying it falls short of the seamless multi-mode travel that was promised. Officials have yet to respond to the concerns.

The week also saw a worrying run of violent crime in the city, with a gang attack on a youth in the Old City, murders reported in Chaderghat and Nagole, and a stabbing on October 10, keeping the city police on their toes.
