Kohli passes 15,000 ODI runs as India thrash West Indies in 1st ODI

Virat Kohli became only the second batter after Sachin Tendulkar to reach 15,000 ODI runs, getting there with an unbeaten 139 off 88 balls — his 86th international hundred — as India beat West Indies by eight wickets in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday.

India chased 296 with 50 balls to spare: Shubman Gill hit 110, his tenth ODI century, in a 151-run stand with Kohli; West Indies had made 295, led by Justin Greaves's maiden ODI hundred and Amir Jangoo's 58, with Kuldeep Yadav taking 4 for 40.

India lead the three-match series 1–0, with the second ODI in Rajkot on Wednesday, September 30. Kohli told broadcaster JioStar on Saturday that the 2027 World Cup will be his last for India.
