Seven more medals take India's Asian Games tally to 37
India won seven medals on Day 9 (Sunday) of the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya: silvers for Abhay Singh (squash men's singles), Anahat Singh (squash women's singles — the first Indian woman in an Asian Games singles final), Ancy Sojan (long jump, 6.53m) and Sarvesh Kushare (high jump, 2.25m).
The bronzes came from Parul Chaudhary (3,000m steeplechase, personal best 9:08.67), Harita Bhadra (200m, 23.20) and Tejaswin Shankar (decathlon, 7,934 points).
The total now stands at 37 medals — 4 gold, 16 silver, 17 bronze — placing India 12th on the table, led by China with 119 golds at the end of Day 9.
