Telangana proposes LB Nagar–Hayathnagar double-decker corridor; seeks Centre’s nod

Roads & Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has urged Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to approve pending Telangana infrastructure projects, proposing a roughly 6-km double-decker elevated corridor from LB Nagar to Hayathnagar to permanently ease traffic congestion in eastern Hyderabad.
The Centre has already approved ₹545 crore for the LB Nagar–Malkapur six-laning on NH-65, and the state is pushing for clearance of a wider shelf of road projects.
If approved, the double-decker corridor would be among the first of its kind in the city, stacking road capacity in a single structure to untangle one of Hyderabad’s busiest stretches.
Officials said a detailed project report would follow once the Centre gives in-principle approval.
