TPCC seeks SIT probe into alleged coordinated voter deletions via Form-7

The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee has approached Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Sajjanar alleging a coordinated attempt to remove genuine voters — including Congress leaders, workers and their families — from electoral rolls through pre-filled Form-7 applications during the Special Intensive Revision exercise.
The party demanded that an FIR be registered and a Special Investigation Team constituted to probe the alleged deletions.
The complaint adds a Hyderabad-specific criminal angle to the wider national row over the SIR, which the opposition alleges is being used to selectively delete voter names while the Election Commission maintains it only removes duplicates, the deceased and ineligible voters.
The commissioner’s office had not commented on the complaint at the time of going to press.
