Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar announced on Monday that the government will review the fares of the new common mobility pass for Metro and RTC buses, after commuters complained the charges are too steep.

Launched on October 2, the common pass costs ₹400 a day (₹300 for Metro, ₹100 for RTC buses) and ₹8,500 a month — pricing many regular commuters say defeats the purpose of integrated travel.

The minister said a meeting with senior officials will assess passenger feedback before deciding on revised prices, following instructions from Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.

The review will aim to make the pass financially beneficial for commuters and encourage greater use of public transport in the city.
