Alaaeddine Ajaraie struck twice as NorthEast United thrashed Kerala Blasters 4-1 in Guwahati to go top of the ISL table.

NorthEast United FC produced a commanding display to thrash Kerala Blasters 4-1 in their Indian Super League clash at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday. The victory extended the Highlanders' winning run to two matches and carried them to the summit of the ISL table.

Moroccan striker Alaaeddine Ajaraie was the star, opening the scoring in the 15th minute after rounding goalkeeper Arsh Anwer, and then curling in his second in the 70th minute. Antonio Moyano made it 2-0 in first-half stoppage time after Ajaraie's shot was blocked and fell kindly for him. Kerala pulled one back through Yansane around the hour mark after an Adrian Luna flick, before Ajaraie restored the two-goal cushion and debutant Aman CK came off the bench to seal it in the 82nd minute.

The result was a difficult outing for Kerala Blasters, whose defence was breached repeatedly in Guwahati. NorthEast United stayed organised and kept the visitors from building any real comeback, underlining their early-season credentials in the 2026-27 campaign.
