Eligible farmer families receive Rs 2,000 directly into their bank accounts.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 24th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme from Banaskantha, Gujarat, on Friday.

More than Rs 18,690 crore went directly into the bank accounts of over 9.34 crore farmer families through direct benefit transfer, at Rs 2,000 per eligible family. With this payout, cumulative disbursements under the scheme have crossed Rs 4.64 lakh crore.

The release headlined the Prime Minister's two-day Gujarat visit, which also includes projects worth Rs 14,000 crore in Banaskantha and the National Unity Day celebrations on Saturday. At the event he dedicated 521 units built under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund to the nation and inaugurated 12 horticulture clusters.

Under PM-KISAN, launched in February 2019, eligible landholding farmer families receive Rs 6,000 a year in three equal instalments; the Union Cabinet has extended the scheme to 2030-31 with an outlay of Rs 3.15 lakh crore.
