At Praja Bhavan, the CM ordered drinking-water and job-guarantee contingencies for an El Niño-hit season, and called on workers to join the Nov 1 Delhi rally on SIR.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy chaired an El Niño drought preparedness meeting at Praja Bhavan on Friday, directing officials to secure drinking water supply, cattle fodder and employment-guarantee work across Telangana, with an estimated 251 TMC water deficit feared in the state.

The CM asked farmers to prioritise drinking water, cut back paddy in the Yasangi (rabi) season, and use water and power carefully. He also told Congress leaders to mobilise 10,000 to 15,000 party workers for the I.N.D.I.A. bloc's Save Democracy rally against the SIR voter-roll revision at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan on November 1.

Reddy rejected BRS criticism that the Congress government was to blame for the drought, saying El Niño was affecting several states and countries, and accused the opposition of spreading misinformation for political gain.
