Telangana CM urges Centre to fast-track high-speed rail corridors for Hyderabad

Revanth Reddy met Railway Minister Vaishnaw seeking alignment approval for Hyderabad–Pune, Bengaluru and Chennai corridors.
The meeting at Rail Bhavan also covered a proposed 130 km Vikarabad–Krishna railway line. The CM said large limestone deposits near Tekalkode in Vikarabad could turn the region into a cement and textile hub if rail connectivity improves.
Revanth Reddy pushed for a 'Regional Ring Rail' alongside the 360 km Regional Ring Road under construction around Hyderabad, arguing it would generate significant employment. He also sought approval for new lines including Dornakal–Gadwal, Kacheguda–Jaggayyapeta and Patancheru–Adilabad.
The Chief Minister asked for a mega coaching and freight maintenance depot at Anantaram near Mahabubabad, noting the state has already agreed to hand over 409 acres for the project.
