Revanth orders zero water-crisis plan for Hyderabad

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy orders a zero water-crisis plan for Hyderabad, with sewage plants at full capacity and treated water mandatory for data centres, builders and government offices.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has ordered officials to ensure Hyderabad never faces a drinking-water crisis, directing that every sewage treatment plant in the city's CURE zone run at full capacity and that treated water be reused across government buildings, construction sites, data centres and public spaces.
At a review on Wednesday, officials said treated water from 26 plants is already being supplied through Green Water Tankers, with consumers paying only a transport fee, and the Chief Minister set November 1 as the deadline for the new arrangements.
The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency, HYDRA, will independently monitor plant performance, as the state moves early against El Niño-linked drought risk to protect its freshwater reserves.
