Rupee closes 3 paise higher at 95.12 against the dollar, holding a tight range as crude stays elevated near $116.

The rupee closed marginally up 3 paise at 95.12 against the US dollar on Tuesday, amid elevated crude oil prices, after trading in a tight range of 95.09 to 95.24.

The currency opened at 95.17 and held steady through the session, with traders cautious ahead of the US Federal Reserve's policy decision and continued geopolitical uncertainty.

Elevated crude near $116 a barrel remains the key pressure point for the import-dependent currency, feeding into the import bill and inflation expectations.
