Hyderabad gears up for its colourful Sadar festival, with decorated buffaloes and traditional performances set for the official celebration on November 4.

Preparations are underway for Hyderabad's Sadar festival, which the Telangana government will officially celebrate on November 4 at NTR Stadium.

Observed by the Yadav community during Diwali, the festival involves special prayers for cattle and Lord Krishna, with community members bringing decorated buffaloes and bulls for a procession featuring traditional dances, drumbeats and stick performances.

The annual celebration, one of the city's most distinctive folk festivals, draws large crowds to see the decked-out animals and the energetic street performances that accompany them.
