Sensex jumps 473 points, Nifty gains 134 in Monday's rebound

The BSE Sensex climbed 472.77 points (0.66%) to close at 72,382.47 on Monday, while the Nifty 50 rose 133.80 points (0.60%) to 22,555.75, snapping a four-session slide on easing crude and cooling US rate-hike fears.
The rebound ended the longest weekly losing streak in 25 years for Indian equities, with softer US employment data taking the heat off Fed rate-hike bets and Brent easing to around $101–102 a barrel.
ITC, Eternal, Bharti Airtel and Bajaj Finance led the gainers, while HDFC Bank fell 2.2% after the RBI approved Anup Bagchi as its new managing director and chief executive.
GIFT Nifty futures pointed to a firm continuation, as the heavy foreign-selling pressure that dogged 2026 finally showed signs of easing.
