Two-time Olympic medallist P.V. Sindhu stormed into the final of the French Open 2026 in Paris, beating Japan's Hina Akechi in three hard-fought games in the women's singles semi-finals on Saturday.

Sindhu held her nerve in the decider at the Arena Grand Paris to set up a title clash with South Korea's An Se Young, the world No. 1 and the tournament's top seed.

The run to the final continues a strong season for Sindhu, who has been rebuilding form and confidence on the BWF World Tour after injury setbacks in recent years.

The final will be a test of Sindhu's big-match pedigree against the most consistent player on the women's circuit this season.
