Syria shuts Jordan crossing after strikes kill seven

Syria shuts its only Jordan crossing after airstrikes kill seven, disputing Jordan's claim that the strikes were coordinated.
Syria has closed its only border crossing with Jordan, the Nassib crossing, after Jordanian airstrikes killed seven people in southern Syria, including three children and a woman, according to Syria's Civil Defence.
Jordan said the strikes, in retaliation for last week's deadly attack on a church funeral in Karak, were coordinated with Damascus — a claim Syria explicitly contradicted, saying it had conveyed its complete reservation and opened an investigation.
The closure sharpens a diplomatic rift between the neighbours, with Damascus disputing Amman's account of coordination even as both sides face pressure to keep the vital crossing open.
