The Telangana cabinet, chaired by CM Revanth Reddy, approved two pending dearness allowance instalments for state employees and pensioners, releasing arrears accumulated since 2024 at an annual cost of ₹2,500 crore.

The move clears arrears that had built up since 2024, bringing relief to lakhs of government employees and pensioners across the state.

The cabinet decision adds about ₹2,500 crore to the state's annual financial burden, with remaining instalments to be cleared in phases — though no timeline has been announced.

The announcement caps a busy weekend for the government, which also reviewed medical infrastructure projects and school inspections at a CMO meeting on Saturday.
