TG SAFE shuts down nine restaurants in Hyderabad crackdown

Telangana's food safety enforcement wing has shut down nine restaurants across Hyderabad after inspections flagged serious hygiene and safety violations.

Inspectors moved across outlets in a coordinated sweep, and nine establishments were ordered closed for failing basic food-safety norms — the latest in the state's tightening watch on the city's vast eating-out sector.

The crackdown follows months of high-profile enforcement drives, with authorities signalling that closures — not just fines — are now the default response to repeat offenders.

Owners of the shut outlets will need to rectify the violations and pass re-inspection before reopening.
