Trump rails at Nobel committee over Pillay win, claims he deserved ‘8 Nobel Prizes’

President Donald Trump is enduring his second straight Nobel loss — and taking it badly. At a rally in Syracuse, New York, late on Friday he devoted a remarkable stretch to the prize awarded hours earlier to South African jurist Navi Pillay, calling it an ‘indelible stain on the country of Norway’.
In a nearly 600-word Truth Social post shortly before midnight, he wrote that ‘to the best of my knowledge, no one ever heard of her’, claimed he had ‘settled eight wars’ including between India and Pakistan, and declared: ‘In actuality, I should have won 8 Nobel Peace Prizes, not just 1.’
Pillay, who learned of her win while attending an event at the Nuremberg Court, met his campaign with humour: ‘If you clap a little bit more, I may share this prize with Trump,’ she told applauding colleagues. The Norwegian Nobel Committee has noted that a Nobel Prize cannot be transferred once awarded.
