Aman Sehrawat defeated reigning world champion Han Chong-Song 11-7 on Oct 3 to win the men's 57kg freestyle wrestling gold — India's 20th gold of the Aichi-Nagoya Games.

Sehrawat is the first Indian to win gold in the men's 57kg freestyle category at the Asian Games, upgrading the bronze he won at Hangzhou 2023.

Deepak Punia added bronze in the 97kg freestyle — India's first Asiad medal in that category in 60 years — while Nitesh Siwach took silver in the 97kg Greco-Roman.

The wrestling medals helped India finish fourth with 85 medals — 21 gold, 27 silver and 37 bronze — its second-best Asian Games haul.
