Rain washes out the India-Australia T20I opener in Canberra at 97 for 1, after Suryakumar Yadav struck his 150th T20I six.

Rain washed out the first T20I between India and Australia at Manuka Oval in Canberra, with the match abandoned after India reached 97 for 1 in 9.5 overs.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav was unbeaten on 39 and Shubman Gill on 37 when a second downpour ended play, after the match had already been reduced to 18 overs a side.

Suryakumar's innings included his 150th six in T20 internationals, making him only the second Indian after Rohit Sharma to reach the landmark, while Nitish Kumar Reddy was ruled out of the first three T20Is.
