Brazil runoff too close to call as counting begins

Brazil's presidential runoff is too close to call, with counting under way after a last-minute court order extended polling.
Vote counting is under way in the final round of Brazil's presidential election, with the race still too close to call after more than half the ballots were counted on Sunday night.
Opinion polls published on Saturday showed right-wing senator Flavio Bolsonaro maintaining a narrow lead over veteran left-wing incumbent President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who beat Lula by just under two percentage points in the first round on October 4.
Confusion was added to the tense race when a last-minute Supreme Court ruling directed polls to stay open for an additional two hours, despite some polling stations having already closed.
